I like to do rad stuff in rad places. My travel itch started at a young age; I was a military brat for 16 years we were stationed overseas in Germany for the final six. My family did extensive traveling while there, which opened my eyes to the beauty that is special to different regions. Now, I spend weekends trying to see as much of the Pacific Northwest as possible.
I’ve found my calling and want to dive in head first, immersing myself in the wondrous beauty waiting around the next bend.
Instead of focusing on one funtivity, I enjoy a wide range of hobbies that involve me trying to not seriously hurt myself: skiing, rock climbing, backpacking, and most recently, mountaineering. I like to see how far I can push myself, and I’ve yet to hit a wall.
Time spent waking up next to a glacier at 7,000 feet to watch the sunrise and a family of mountain goats lope by, or seeing the sliver of a crescent moon over a peaceful alpine lake is time well spent. I’ve found happiness, peace, and contentment in the wild.
Another glorious day, the air as delicious to the lungs as nectar to the tongue. -John Muir
